Without doubt the most important aspect of the entire insurance transaction and yet the aspect most contentious and also the process least understood.

Insured parties have a wide range of remedies open to them and as such without inside knowledge the insurer may settle a claim for less than it is obliged to.

Acuity includes the claims advocacy as part of its normal service as it is our belief that a broker’s role is to advocate for the client in all situations.

Amazingly, we have found that not all of the broking industry shares the view.

Where an insured has purchased a cover online or without using the services of an insurance broker, Acuity can act as a claims advocate or provide advice in regard to the claim process. This service can also be utilised by clients whose broker has failed to look after their interests. In these cases, we can advise or act only in certain circumstances. Our experience shows that there are situations where the outcome cannot be resolved between client broker and insurer, rather dispute resolution or court or similar adjudication.

In many situations a different approach has produced positive outcomes despite an initial denial of liability from the insurer.

Acuity has a number of professionals who can assist in these situations and we are happy to make the introductions or to provide a preliminary assessment of the outcome and cost indication.
